Week 31

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 31 weeks

Size of Baby: Over 16” long and about 3.3 lbs. Around the weight four navel oranges (weird comparison this week).

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my doctor’s visit last week, I had lost a pound. I’m pretty sure I found that pound and then some this week.

Maternity Clothes: I’m wearing mostly maternity jeans or other forgiving pants. I’m still wearing regular tops.

Gender: It’s a girl!! Avery Grace.

Movement: She’s more active in the morning and in the evenings, but she’s pretty laid back I think, not that I have anything to compare her to.

Food Cravings: I don’t have any real cravings right now.

What I Miss: I don’t miss anything.

Sleep: I’m still sleeping great.

Symptoms: Just heartburn.

Best Moment This Week: We had a great time on the field trip Thursday and Friday. Also, we had a good Easter with Chris’ family.

What I Am Looking Forward To: We get to stay home this weekend. I’m so excited about that. Weekends at home are rare. Also, I’m going to Benton this week to start clearing stuff out to move more of our stuff up there.

Week 30

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 30 weeks

Size of Baby: About 15.7” long and about 3 lbs. Around the size of a head of cabbage.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: At my doctor’s visit on Monday, I had lost a pound.

Best Moment This Week: Well, there was confusion about my gestational diabetes screening. The lab told me it was fine, but my doctor called and said it was border line, and they wanted me to do the three-hour test. I did the test, did not get sick, and I definitely do not have diabetes, so it turned out well.

What I Am Looking Forward To: Chris and I are leaving in the morning for an overnight field trip to Mountain View. We’re going to Greers Ferry to a trout hatchery. Then, we’re going to Blanchard Caverns and to a drive in movie that night. Friday, we’re going to the Ozark Folk Center then back home. Saturday morning, we’re getting up and going to Fayetteville to spend Easter with Chris’ family. It’s a busy few days, but I’m looking forward to some time with Chris.

Gender Reveal Party

As I mentioned before, we had a little gender reveal party for our family. Most of our family (everyone but Chris' mom) was convinced that we were having a girl, so we spent part of the week (from Tuesday to Saturday) trying to drop subtle hints that it was a boy just to throw them off. Here are a few pictures of our party.

Week 29

This is a really bad picture I took of myself in our oddly-lit bathroom, but you get the idea.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 29 weeks

Size of Baby: About 15” and about 2 ½ lbs. Around the size of a butternut squash.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: + ½ lb.

Food Cravings: I’m trying to cut back on sugars, but I’m still craving Dr. Pepper and sweet tea.

What I Miss: I don’t miss anything.

Sleep: I’m still sleeping great.

Symptoms: Just heartburn.

Best Moment This Week: We got to surprise our families by revealing that we’re having a girl. I made cupcakes with pink icing in the middle, and everyone bit into a cupcake at the same time. Sunny nearly choked trying to eat cupcake and yell, “I told you so!” at the same time. Also, I went to a consignment sale yesterday with mom and got some cute clothes for not much money.

What I Am Looking Forward To: For now, I’m looking forward to getting to relax. We had a busy weekend, and I went back to Benton on Monday for the consignment sale then back to Mena today. I’m ready for a break.

Week 28

It's been a rough few weeks around here. In my last post, we were excited about spending Spring Break in New Orleans. However, the day before we left Chris' dad went in the hospital. Sadly, he passed away on March 24. We spent the rest of Spring Break and most of the next week with Chris' mom and brother helping them get things settled. Therefore, we're a bit behind on baby updates, but we've been blessed with good family and a sweet baby to talk about in times of sadness.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 28 weeks

Size of Baby: About 14 ½” and a little over 2 lbs. Around the size of a Chinese cabbage.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still just ½ lb.

Maternity Clothes: I’m wearing mostly maternity jeans or other forgiving pants. I’m still wearing regular tops.

Gender: It’s a girl!! We had our 4D ultrasound Tuesday, and we were finally able to see our girl.

Movement: She’s moving more and more. Some days she’s more laid back than others, but she’s definitely getting bigger and stronger.

Food Cravings: Sweet tea.

What I Miss: I don’t miss anything.

Sleep: I’m still sleeping great.

Symptoms: Just heartburn.

Best Moment This Week: The best moment by far was getting to see our girl, her chubby cheeks, and cute nose. I also loved watching Chris’ face while he was trying to make out what he was seeing on the screen during the ultrasound. Also, I had my gestational diabetes screening this morning, and I passed!

What I Am Looking Forward To: We’re having a little family party this weekend to tell them that we’re having a girl. We can’t wait.
