Week 10

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 10 weeks

Size of Baby: 1”, the size of a kumquat.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: According to my scales (and after three Thanksgiving throw downs), I lost about 7 lbs. But, according to the doctor’s scales, I only lost 2, which means a) my scales are off and b) Thanksgiving took its toll.

Maternity Clothes: Just regular clothes.

Gender: We can’t wait to find out!

Movement: Not just yet.

Food Cravings: Nothing really.

What I Miss: I don’t miss anything.

Sleep: I’ve been sleeping great, but I’ve gotten up early on my own every day.

Symptoms: I’ve felt pretty good this week. I’ve had some slight headaches, but I haven’t been sick at all.

Best Moment This Week: We had our first ultrasound on Tuesday. It was neat to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. Its heartbeat was 180, which was good. We also really enjoyed spending time with family over the Thanksgiving break.

What I Am Looking Forward To: Right now, I’m looking forward to Christmas break. Three weeks away. I'm also looking forward to my next appointment where we'll get to hear the heartbeat again.

Movement: Not just yet.

Food Cravings: This week it’s been Cinnamon Toast Crunch and jalapenos. Not together.

Our Weekend

We had a great weekend. We started out on Friday night with a weenie roast and hay ride for my 4-H club. About 50 people showed up. The kids had a great time running around and playing in the dark while the parents stood around the fire and talked. It was good to laugh and spend time together.

On Saturday morning, Chris and I left to go to Benton to see my family. We hung out with my mom at her house that afternoon and helped her cook dinner for that night. That evening, Joel, Sunny, Jarrett, Aunt Kathy, and Uncle Harvey came over for dinner. Chris and I knew we were going to tell everyone about our baby after dinner so we were nervous and excited.

After dinner, Chris went to change into his "costume." The shirt was his idea, so he was ready to show it off.

Everyone was so excited....except Jarrett. He had a really freaked out look on his face. Then, he started gagging. Ha! The kid went outside and puked. We were all laughing because that's just classic Jarrett. After a while, he was feeling better about it. Later he told my mom that he was a little mad at me because he wanted to be the only little kid.

After the baby news, we all got ready to take Jarrett trick-or-treating. He went as Billy the Exterminator.

After trick-or-treating, Jarrett spent the night with us at Mom's. Sunday, we ran some errands, ate lunch at Pei Wei, and went to see Joel and Sunny's new land. Then, it was time to come home. We had a good time, and we were so glad to be able to share our good news with our family.
