Week 20

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 20 weeks! Halfway!!

Size of Baby: 10”, the size of a banana.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Still 0 lbs. according to the doc.

Maternity Clothes: Just regular clothes, but they’re starting to get more uncomfortable. I think I’m going to invest in some maternity jeans this weekend.

Gender: Our next ultrasound is February 15 at 21 weeks. I hope we get to find out the gender.

Movement: I’m feeling more and more movement. It hasn’t gotten consistent yet, so I still have some quiet days with relatively little activity. It is reassuring to feel our sweet baby.

Food Cravings: Nothing really.

What I Miss: I don’t miss anything.

Sleep: I’m still sleeping great.

Symptoms: Just a few headaches and some minor heartburn. Also, I’m starting to have some ligament paint, but it’s not really pain. It feels more like stretching.

Best Moment This Week: Chris was off three days last week for snow. It was great to spend some extra time with him. Also, just a funny story for us to remember. We’ve been using the Doppler a few times a week to hear the heartbeat. When I’ve used it, the heartbeat has been rather faint and slow sounding. This worried me some because at the doctor it sounds so fast and strong. Chris reassured me that it was just the differences in quality with what we have and what the doctor has. Well, last night we used it, and the only heartbeat I could find was faint, and it was only 85 beats per minute. Chris said, “I wonder if you’ve somehow found your heartbeat down there.” Turns out, I did! We had been listening to my heartbeat for a couple of weeks. After some searching on my other side, we found the baby’s heartbeat. It was strong and fast around 155. It made me feel so dumb! But, I was glad we figured it out.

What I Am Looking Forward To: I’m starting to get REALLY excited about the ultrasound. It’s a week away! Also, we’re going to visit my family this weekend. I’m so excited to get out of the house!
